PHYTOMER is a passionate family business with its roots, since its inception, in Saint-Malo, Brittany, a stone's throw from the beaches. When Jean Gédouin created the company in 1972, he had a dream: To offer the skin the most fascinating elements of the sea.
Today, despite its international expansion, PHYTOMER remains in Saint-Malo and still cultivates the same love of the sea. Every one of the 200 people who work in our head office in Saint-Malo, and in our laboratories in the bay of Mont Saint-Michel, is inspired by the sea. We focus on learning about nature, its biodiversity and its ecosystems in order to enhance and preserve its innumerable resources.

Marine biodiversity is at the heart of our business.
For nearly 50 years PHYTOMER research has been at the cutting-edge of sustainable cultivation techniques. We develop unprecedented algae cultivation programs in our laboratories. These programs are sustainable and help to reintroduce endangered species.
Thanks to our pioneering research in marine biotechnology, we take advantage of the unique marine habitat in Brittany, composed of algae and microorganisms, while protecting these rich and fragile ecosystems. We constantly discover and strive to preserve the exceptional resources that are hidden in the sea.
We are entirely in charge for the manufacture of our products and favor a green approach at every step along the way.
We are responsible for the entire development process of our products. We do not bring together ingredients from outside sources but create our own marine ingredients in our laboratories. In Saint-Malo, we develop new marine ingredients in-house and manufacture high-quality products that are distributed worldwide.
Throughout the production chain, from the raw materials to packaging, we impose strict controls to ensure the impeccable quality and traceability of our products.
