OUR COMMITMENTS TO THE ENVIRONMENT
Phytomer uses sustainable cosmetic production practices with an aim to reduce our environmental impact at every step of the production chain. Our sincere, pro-active corporate social responsibility measures have been in place for over 20 years.
FOCUS ON LOCAL SOURCES & SUSTAINABLE HARVEST PRACTICES
2/3 of our active ingredients come from Brittany, France. We use short supply chains and work in close collaboration with a network of local partners: growers, start-up companies, scientists, etc.
Our algae are harvested with respect to location, season and reproduction period in order to preserve natural resources.
SUSTAINABLE ALGAE CULTURES
The rarest and most fragile algae species we use are grown on ropes in the open sea or in seawater reservoirs in our Laboratories.
In our Innovation Center, we have perfected biotech culture processes for unique, 100% natural marine ingredients.
These cutting-edge processes mean we preserve natural resources and can therefore ensure exceptional quality and purity.
MANAGING OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
We select production processes with limited environmental impact throughout the manufacturing process. These include eco-conscious extraction methods, renewable energy sources, organic marine plant cultures, de-polluting wastewater treatments, and smart recycling methods.
A commitment to the environment and respect for the sea are more than just a fad for us; they lie at the heart of our company’s mission.
ECO-FRIENDLY PACKAGING
Whenever possible, we use plant-based and recyclable materials and limit plastic use:
- Recyclable plant-based tubes
- Packaging made with natural paper from sustainably managed forests
- Recyclable glass jars
- PET bottles that can be recycled up to 8 times
OUR PATRONAGE OF THE SEA
We are a partner of TIME FOR THE OCEAN, a charity that organizes artistic events to build awareness of the urgent need to protect the world’s oceans.
As part of the partnership, we proudly sponsors SEA ART, a documentary series directed by Maud Baignères. It was conceived as a way to incite wonder and a commitment to protecting the sea via impactful films which showcase artists with intimate ties to the world’s oceans.
